To help with your course selection for next year, use the pathways map to plan where you want to go and how to get there.
➢ If you are in Level 2/3 and intending to go to university, you will have to select a literacy rich subject to make sure you meet the university requirements.
• If a subject is orange, it is either a Unit Standards course or one that is designed to help your pathway to a job/career directly out of school and not to university.
• If a subject is green, then it has a UE pathway, meaning the skills learnt in it will help you make the transition to level three.
• If a subject is dark green, then it is a UE approved subject at level 3. You will need at least 3 of these if you want to gain entry to university.
Select 6 subjects. A mixture of green and orange. My aim is to gain NCEA Level 2 (60 Level 2+ credits) to be able to pathway to chosen vocation. | Select 1-2 UE literacy subjects. Choose 4-5 additional subjects, focusing on mainly UE pathway subjects. My aim is to gain NCEA Level 2 (60 Level 2 Credits) and aim for a Merit or Excellence endorsement. | Select at least 1 UE literacy subject. Choose additional subjects; can be a mixture of orange and green. My aim is to gain NCEA Level 2 (60 Level 2 Credits). |
