Business Studies Level 2
Option Description

In Level 2 Business Studies students, in collaborative groups, will learn about market research and how to carry out and review a business activity (selling a product) utilising the Young Enterprise Scheme (YES). The Young Enterprise Scheme provides a range of opportunities for students to learn how to market, produce and sell a product that they collaboratively have created. They will also learn how to process accounting transactions using Xero computer software.
Option Overview
Term 1
Internal Assessment 1 - Market research
The students collaboratively determine a product that they are considering producing to sell. The group then carries out market research to determine if this is a good idea.
Internal Assessment 2 - Business Plan
Students collaboratively work on creating a business plan, which will enable them to produce the product.
Term 2
Internal Assessment 2 - Business Plan continues
Students having created their business plan, then proceed to produce and market their product.
After marketing their product the group reviewing and amending their business plan and sell at a second market.
Internal Assessment 3 - Communicate within a group
Internal Assessment 4 - Contribute within a group
Term 3
Internal Assessment 2 - Business Plan continues
Student complete an annual review of their product.

Assessment Information
Assessment in Business Studies includes a variety of presentation styles - predominately from written presentations, using a variety of techniques (google docs, google slides) and recording accounting transactions using the accounting software Xero.The course only includes internal assessments.
Credit Information
You will be assessed in this course through all or a selection of the standards listed below.
