Option Description
This certificate is designed for Year 12 students and gives them a solid introduction to early childhood education settings, where the students will learn practical skills to nurture, develop and care for young children. Manukau Institute of Technology is the provider of the standards which are delivered by our teachers. This course will prepare students to advance on to higher level early childhood education program.
Benefits for students upon completion of the certificate students will:
•Be credited with 21 unit standard credits if they complete the required performance criteria which contribute to their NCEA qualification.
•Have the opportunity to go on to further tertiary study at MIT’s School of Education, Foundation Studies or other tertiary institutions
•Be better prepared for higher level learning
•Gain skills useful to any employment or life experience involving interaction with children
•Have some of the skills necessary for employment in early childhood education.
