This chemistry course builds on learning from Level 1 Science. The course is made up of two semesters: Semester A - Practical Chemistry and Semester B - Chemical structures and reactions.

Option Overview

Semester A
Practical Chemistry (internally assessed)
Identifying chemicals (ions) in solutions
Titrations - determing how much of particular chemical is contained in a solution

Semester B
Chemical Structures and Reactions
Structures and Bonding - how particles are arranged and joined together in different types of chemicals (externally assessed)
Redox reactions - what happens to particles when they react (internally assessed)

Recommended Prior Learning

Level 1 Science or HOD approval. Level 1 Acids and Bases recommended.

Pathway
